Hydropower

Project Construction

CTG has overcome some of the most challenging technical problems in the world as it has built and operated world-class large hydropower stations including the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant (HPP) (22,500 MW), Xiangjiaba HPP (6,400 MW) and Xiluodu HPP (13,860 MW). Those challenges include high-strength concrete pouring for the dam, deep anti-sliding of the dam, excavation and construction of long-span underground powerhouse and large-scale chambers, as well as manufacturing and installation of large-capacity hydro-turbine generating units.

Through this work, we strengthen the capability for control of engineering technology, quality, safety, environmental protection, investment, project speed and integrated governance of the dam areas; and we also develop core competitive strengths to provide solutions for hydropower projects during its whole life cycle.

Power Generation

CTG owns 5 of the world's 12 largest hydropower stations built or under construction and two thirds of the large hydro-turbine generating units with a single-unit capacity of more than 700MW in the world. The reliability indicators of all the generating units meet the international standards of world-class HPPs, and the key operational indicators rank high within the industry.
