Gezhouba Hydropower Station

Gezhouba Hydropower Station, the first dam along the Yangtze River, is located at the outlet of Xiling Gorge at the middle stream of the Yangtze River in Yichang of Hubei Province and is about 38 km from the downstream of Three Gorges Hydropower Station.
Gezhouba hydropower Station commenced construction in May 1971 and was completed in December 1988. The total installed capacity is 2,715 MW and annual power output is 15.7 TWh.
