The second batch of modernization for Brasil's Jupia and Ilha Solteira hydropower plants, operated by CTG Brasil, has recently entered the final reassembly stage. The modernization covers 8 generating units, 6 of which have been completed and are performing well.
With the completion of this stage, CTG Brasil made further progress in the project that ensures greater efficiency, reliability and availability.
The two hydropower projects are backbone power stations for the grid in Brasil's economically developed southeastern regions. Consisting of 34 units with a total installed capacity of 4.995 million kW, the long-term safe and stable operation of these two projects plays a key role in Brasil's power market.
